The Mist (also known as Stephen King's The Mist) is a 2007 North american science fiction horror film based concerned with the 1980 novella of the specific name by Stephen King. The tint was written and directed by Open Darabont, who had previously adapted King's works The Shawshank Redemption (1994 record based on the 1982 novella) so The Green Mile (1999 film modeled on the 1996 novel). Darabont previously been interested in adapting The Spray for the big screen since all of the 1980s. Filming for The Mist was initiated in Shreveport, Louisiana, in February, 2007.
The film was from the commercial perspective released in the United Promises and Canada on November 21, 2007; it performed well found at the box office and have been given generally positive reviews. Darabont which has since revealed that he took "always had it in feelings to shoot The Mist to black and white", a pick inspired by such iconic movie channels as Night of the Alive Dead (1968) and the "pre-color" work of Ray Harryhausen.
