The Possession is a 2012 American supernatural horror film directed by Ole Bornedal and produced by Sam Raimi. Guidelines and meal plans released in the US on July 31, 2012, with the film premiering at the Film4 FrightFest.The story is dependant the allegedly haunted dybbuk box.[5] Bornedal cited films like The Exorcist for inspiration, praising their subtlety.

A newly separated couple Clyde (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Kyra Sedgwick) live in different homes. When you finish Clyde picks up their two children, Emily "Em" (Natasha Calis) and Hannah (Madison Davenport), for the weekend, them to stop at a yard sale even Em becomes intrigued by an out-of-date wooden box that has Hebrew massages engraved on it.[7] Clyde buys software program for Em, and they later know that there seems no way to open it. That night, Em hears whispering coming from the field. She is able to open it, and finds a tooth, a dead moth, a wooden figurine, and a ring, which she actually starts to wear. Em becomes solitary, and the woman's behavior becomes increasingly sinister; she stabs her father in the hand along with a fork. The house becomes infested with the help of moths.

At school, Em violently attacks the classmate when he takes her box, resulting in a conference with Clyde, Stephanie, the principal, and consequently teacher. Em's trainer recommends that your girl spend time out of the box, so the time left in that this classroom. That night, curious about ones noises from which the box, the teacher tries to opening it, but a definite malevolent force, all the dybbuk, throws his or her out a window and she dies. Em tells Clyde about an invisible daughter who lives in her own box who says that Em is "special". Alarmed by their behavior, Clyde efforts to dispose of software program. During their next weekend at Clyde's, Emily gets progressively more upset with the disappearance of software program. She begins yelling at Clyde a hall with Hannah watching in a corner. The dybbuk seems to slap Em across the face. She begins yelling, asking why he's heading to her, from Hannah's perspective it appears he actually manages. Em flees the house, recovers the inbox and begins conversing with the dybbuk.

Clyde takes the box to a post-secondary professor who tells them him that sanctioned dybbuk box in which it dates back for the 1920s; it was adopted to contain a fabulous dybbuk, a dislocated spirit as dominant as a satanic force. Clyde enters Em's room and reads Psalm 91; a push hurls the Tanakh across the space. Clyde then travels to a Hasidic " club " in Brooklyn while learns from a definite Jew named Tzadok (Matisyahu) that the actual possession has third main stages; typically the third stage most of the dybbuk latches towards the host, becoming the entity with they. The only way to defeat the dybbuk is to secure it back into the box via a fabulous forced ritual. When further examination located on the box, Tzadok understands that the dybbuk's name is "Abyzou", or the "Taker of Children".
